The Project has initiated a Program of improving the environment. To achieve this, the project has established a tree nursery 2 Km East of Gategi market. This department is headed by two supervisors i.e. in charge of tree nursery and outreach. They are assisted by 12 casuals in collecting of seeds, mixing soil ratios, preparing seedbeds, planting, watering, spraying and distribution of the seedlings to the learning institutions. They also assist in farming activities in Projects Agri plots. The Project only produces species which can best survive in the local climate.

Learning institutions, Churches, Health facilities, Markets and other public institutions are provided with tree seedlings for free. For learning institutions, the tree outreach supervisor visits schools which have applied for tree seedlings and assess the ground. He also advises on how the tree seedlings should be planted and taken care of. The project hires a tractor to plough the identified plots. Casual are then taken to the plots and assist in preparation of the planting holes.

The projects hires a vehicle to transport the seedlings free of charge to the institutions. The outreach supervisor keeps a steady visit to these institutions to monitor the progress of the trees as well as giving an advice on better methods of maintaining them; such as, mulching, pruning, diseases control among others. the general community is provided with tree seedlings at subsidized prices.
